IBNA

IBNA LTD is a network of Insurance Brokers throughout Australia, with 90 members handling in excess of $500 million in annual premiums. They established an Internet facility to distribute information to its members. The password-protected site contains a significant amount of resources, and managing it using manual desktop tools had become increasingly difficult.

Early in 2000, the useability of the site and the maintenance overhead demanded the implementation of a new structure and a new maintenance facility. 3rdgen was the tool elected, and the site has been completely rebuilt.

3rdgen Modules in use

  • Content Management
  • All 3rdgenAS modules (EMAIL, Forms, Forms Automation and Registration)

What was the client trying to achieve?

IBNA wanted to re-structure the site, and provide an easy to use interface for maintenance of the content. They also wanted to minimise errors when publishing on the site.

What were the issues / challenges?

The main challenge was to improve their useability when publishing information to the site. IBNA used a desktop class tool, which introduced errors on the site, and useability was dramatically affected.

Like OCA, IBNA had large volumes of content they wanted to deploy, which increased their time to web.

How were the issues resolved?

3rdgen minimised errors on the site by creating design templates, so users were only publishing content and not having to worry about the design or format of the site. This was a major component in facilitating the delivery of the site on time and within budget.

What was the final result?

The site usability, consistency and navigation have been improved dramatically.

“As a result of using 3rdgen, the site is a more effective information tool and the maintenance overhead has been slashed. IBNA publishes content from a variety of sources, including documents provided by 3rd parties, Word and PDF documentation and 3rdgen has improved our efficiency in achieving the objectives of the site."
